• User interface elements - components with nested state functionality
• Rules & documentation - spacing & UX guidelines, example screens

Modular Approach

Modular Design

Leveraging a Modular Design Methodology, the design team built experiences with set components to deliver consistency, speed, and quality across work streams and groups. Designers could simply drop in a component from the design system into their working file to create a screen within minutes. This process decreased the average design effort time by 67%.

Design System Impact

The design system decreased the time spent designing hundreds of screens and increased productivity and workflow speed throughout the program. It was an extremely valuable asset to the internal IBM team and helped Pepsi/Frito-Lay reach their business goals.
